JAMIE & LISA GREEN TALK REST + REBALANCE AS A BUSY FAMILY OF FOUR TRAVELLING THE WORLD

JAMIE & LISA GREEN TALK REST + REBALANCE AS A BUSY FAMILY OF FOUR TRAVELLING THE WORLD

What does a usual week look like in your household? Our weeks are full, in the best kind of way. Between raising two little people — Gigi and Otis — and running our own creative careers, no two days ever really look the same. I (Jamie) work as a photographer, mostly shooting fashion and travel, and Lisa juggles modelling, content creation, and being the glue that keeps it all flowing. We're usually bouncing between school drop-offs, photo shoots, travel days, editing marathons, and somewhere in the mix, trying to carve out slow family moments. We value creativity, freedom, and making time for real connection — whether that's a beach walk, a chaotic dinner at home, or a slow morning with the kids (rare, but magic when it happens!).

What does REST mean for you and your family? Honestly, rest is anything that lets us switch off from the hustle — even just a slow afternoon at the beach or a pizza night with no phones. It's about stepping out of "doing" mode and just being with each other, messy and real. We're trying to teach the kids early that rest is just as important as the
big, busy days.

How do you REBALANCE after a long day of parenting, traveling & shooting?
Music, sunsets, and a good glass of wine usually do the trick. If we’re home, it’s getting the kids down early and sitting outside under the stars for a bit. If we’re traveling, it’s about finding a local spot where we can just breathe for a second. Some nights it's cooking together at home and talking about our day, other nights it’s takeout on the couch while we crash — balance looks different depending on the day.

Describe the hair colours & textures of your beautiful family of 4? We’re a bit of a mixed bag! Gigi’s curls are wild and beautiful — this bouncy, light brown halo with a mind of its own (and we wouldn’t have it any other way). Otis doesn’t have much hair yet, but what he does have is soft, beautiful, and almost pure white — the exact same hair I had as a kid. Lisa’s currently rocking a short-ish bob, which has definitely given her a new lease on life, and I’ve got a pretty thick wave going on thanks to my grandpa.

As a busy working parenting duo, how do you both manage to take time for self-care on top of all the parenting, shooting & travelling?
We’re big believers that little moments add up. It’s not about long spa days (though that sounds dreamy) — it’s more about squeezing things in where we can. We both try to keep it simple, move our bodies every day, and stay tuned in to when the other needs a minute. Sometimes that’s a quick run, a solo coffee, or even just the rare satisfaction of getting the house in order. It all counts.

Please share your favourite travel destinations for this year? 2025 has already been a big year for travel we just got back from Sumba Indonesia, its such a magical place — and it’s only just getting started. France has our hearts, especially Paris which give us a different energy to home in Byron Bay (Lisa’s sister is getting married there!). We’re also heading to Greece later in the year, which will be perfect for slow family days by the water, soaking up that dreamy Aegean light.
